The Overhead Kick’s story
I decided to start The Overhead Kick when I noticed how in modern-day journalism, football articles were only being written to obtain more views and make money from clicks – nobody cared about quality content any more. Even the more established sports news companies’ standards had fallen drastically. The Overhead Kick’s aim is to provide high quality content for free for it’s readers and maintain that quality as we grow.
Currently, The Overhead Kick is operated by one person only. I sure hope you like the content. I have been told it’s not clear why the name “The Overhead Kick” was chosen. Allow me to explain. An overhead kick, also known as a bicycle kick or scissors kick, is an acrobatic strike where a player kicks an airborne ball rearward in midair. This is the bookish wikipedia definition. The essence of an overhead kick is in the spectacle it provides, the ingenuity it requires and the never-ending hard work needed to perfect it. I believe there cannot be a more apt name for my sports website.
Keep following this space. This is only the beginning. Expect some overhead kicks from me soon!
A big thank you to all Overhead Kick-ers out there,
