Portugal goalkeeper Rui Patricio has joined Wolverhampton Wanderers from Sporting Lisbon.
Wanderers, aka Wolves, were promoted from the Championship last season and were in the market to sign a goalkeeper. In Rui Patricio, Wolves are signing a Euro 2016 winner. Patricio has also won the Portuguese Cup and League Cup with Sporting Lisbon. The goalkeeper ended his contract with the Lisbon-based team last week along with 7 other players, due to an attack on Sporting players by fans at their training ground in May.
Patricio, who is currently at the World Cup in Russia with the national team, will join the English outfit for 4 years. Wolves has also signed Willy Boly from Porto and Mexico forward Raul Jimenez on loan from Benfica. The ambitious new Premier League boys are strengthening quickly ahead of the new season.
