Real Madrid have chosen Lopetegui as Zinedine Zidane’s successor. The Spanish coach is currently managing the national team and will be focused on bringing a second World Cup back home.
Madrid appointed Lopetegui on a three year contract which starts at the end of the World Cup. It will be tough for the former La Liga winner to follow in the footsteps of Zinedine Zidane. The French giant has won 3 consecutive Champions Leagues in his three years with Madrid.
Lopetegui has won one La Liga with Madrid as a player and a Supercopa De Espana with Barca. As a manager he won 2 UEFA championships with the under-19 and under-21 teams respectively. Russia 2018 will be his first big tournament with Spain as head coach.
We wish Lopetegui all the best with Madrid.
